NORTH SMITHFIELD – A man from Uxbridge, Mass. received an expectedly large Christmas present, winning $30,000 on a ticket purchased at Cumberland Farms in Slatersville, according to lottery officials.

The win was among more than 100 tickets totaling more than $130,000 in prizes claimed during a busy day at the Rhode Island Lottery’s Cranston office the day after Christmas, according to a release on Monday.

The Uxbridge man received the $5 “Holiday Traditions” Instant Ticket as a Christmas present, purchased at the store at 302 North Main St.

“He said he couldn’t believe he won $30,000, even after passing the ticket around so each member of his family could check it too,” noted the Rhode Island Lottery.
