Bark On The Beach Gets A Second Chance After Rainout

The rain may have won the first round, but Animal Rescue Rhode Island is giving its four-legged supporters another chance to hit the beach.

The Bark on the Beach Dog Walk has been rescheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10, at 10 a.m. at Narragansett Town Beach.

The event will begin at the South Pavilion area, with the Blessing of the Animals and one-mile dog walk scheduled for 10:10 a.m.

The rescheduling follows a rainy original event that brought more than 120 supporters to ARRI despite the weather. While the conditions prevented the planned beach walk, the turnout demonstrated continued support for the animal rescue organization.

For the rescheduled event, participants and their dogs will take part in a one-mile walk along Narragansett Town Beach before returning to collect event merchandise and fundraising prizes.

Participants can pick up their Bark on the Beach T-shirt, Wag Swag Bag, fundraising prizes and other event goodies following the walk.

The event also serves as a fundraiser for ARRI, with proceeds helping provide shelter, medical care and other services for homeless animals.

ARRI said its top fundraisers will be announced and fundraising prizes will be awarded during the Oct. 10 dog walk.

For those who cannot attend the rescheduled walk, ARRI has also offered opportunities to pick up event merchandise and swag separately.

For ARRI supporters, the second attempt is less about making up for a rainy Saturday and more about getting back to what the event was meant to be: a morning at the beach, a community of animal lovers and plenty of dogs enjoying the day together.
