Mini warmth wave?

The Glocester Emergency Administration Company warned residents on Sunday, June 1 concerning the potential for an early season stretch of scorching temperatures anticipated Wednesday and Thursday, June 4 and 5.

“We additionally count on it to be moderately humid, particularly on Thursday when the height of the warmth is probably,” warned the EMA. “This may occasionally have an effect on older residents and people which might be sick, please verify on these people throughout this warmth.”

Present forecasts name for highs within the 80s with rain anticipated on Friday.

Open farm

The Rusty Buckle Petting Zoo at 138 Tourtellot Hill Road will hold open farm hours this week on Wednesday, June 4 from 3 to 6 p.m. and Sunday, June 8 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Rub a pig’s belly, or snuggle with goats and sheep at the petting zoo, take a pony ride or load the family into a wagon for a tractor-drawn hay ride.

Halfway to Halloween

JEX Entertainment will hold a “Halfway to Halloween” event at Hill’s Tavern at 417 Putnam Pike on Friday, June 6, with music from On Your Deathbed, In Shadows, Dead With Days and more. There is a $10 cover for the all ages to show, to feature raffles and a costume contest.

Also this week at Hill’s Tavern, catch Smokin Mirrors on Saturday, June 7 starting at 8 p.m. and Radio Badland in a show Sunday, June 8 starting at 3 p.m. At Cady’s Tavern, it’s Brothers All Band on Friday starting at 8 p.m. and Hard Rain on Saturday at 8:30 p.m.

Town meetings

The Glocester Board of Contracts & Purchases will hold a meeting on Tuesday, June 3 starting at 2 p.m. at Town Hall at 1145 Putnam Pike. The agenda is here.

The Glocester Faculty Committee will maintain a gathering on Tuesday, June 3 beginning at 5 p.m. within the library of Ponaganset Excessive Faculty at 137 Anan Wade Street. The agenda is here. The assembly will probably be adopted by a gathering of the Foster-Glocester Regional Faculty Committee beginning at 7 p.m. for the agenda discovered here.
