With its entrance positioned on the west facet of Block Island, New Harbor (also referred to as Nice Salt Pond) is among the hottest harbors within the Northeast, attracting over 1,500 boats on any given day in the summertime. Hail the Harbormaster on VHF Channel 12 as you enter the harbor for help.

Anchorage

Permitted anchorage is east of the principle navigation channel.

You might be not allowed to anchor within the City mooring subject, inside 100 ft of a industrial dock, on the west facet of the harbor, inside 50 ft of a residential dock personal mooring or moored vessel, within the recreation space, or within the navigation channels and fairways.

Dinghy Dock

Moorings

City Rental Moorings

  • City Rental Moorings are first come first serve. We don’t take reservations.
  • Contact the Harbormaster on VHF Channel 12 for availability once you enter the Pond.Positioned within the southwest nook of the Nice Salt Pond.
