Four northern RI students win scholarships through Navigant Credit Union

SMITHFIELD – Navigant Credit score Union has introduced the 2025 recipients of its annual scholarship program and 4 college students attending northern Rhode Island colleges are among the many 19 statewide recipients.

Alyson Dingena Smith and Sophia Parente from North Smithfield Excessive College, Emma Vincent from Ponaganset Excessive College and Jillian Russell from Burrillville Excessive College had been acknowledged for his or her exemplary educational achievement, teamwork and group involvement over the course of their highschool careers.

“We’re thrilled to help these proficient and devoted college students as they proceed their schooling” mentioned Navigant Credit score Union President/CEO Kathy Orovitz. “These college students’ achievements and contributions to the communities during which they dwell are inspiring, and we stay up for seeing the constructive impacts they are going to make of their future.”

The credit union notes that the awards are part of an ongoing dedication to investing in the future of Rhode Island’s community through education, now in its 28th year. The scholarship recipients were selected from a highly competitive pool of candidates, and each demonstrated academic achievement, extra-curricular activities, community involvement/work experience and financial need, according to a release on the funding.

The 19 students have been awarded $1,500 each and also include:

  • Alexandre Ramos (Saint Raphael Academy)
  • Anthony Yan (Cranston West High School)
  • Destinee Santos (Lincoln Senior High School)
  • Emmitt Rattey (Bishop Hendricken High School)
  • John Nicoll (Lincoln High School)
  • Joshua Kline  (Bishop Hendricken High School)
  • Lauren Avedisian (Narragansett High School)
  • Lauren Colette (Cumberland High School)
  • Luke Grimley (East Providence  High School) 
  • Madeleine Belisle  (Mount Saint Charles High School)
  • Madelynn Daly (St Mary Academy- Bay View)
  • Marcel Reed (East Pennsboro High School)
  • Michael Ndimele (The Met)
  • Riley McVay (Cumberland High School)
  • Thomas DeDonato (Cumberland High School)
