WARWICK, RI — A Warwick man is in court docket at the moment on a stolen plates larceny charge stemming from a Feb. 5 theft of license plates from a Warwick firm’s van.

Surveillance video footage of the van throughout the time of the obvious theft supported a Warwick Police warrant for the arrest of a Harlan Hays, 46, of 445 Oakland Seashore Ave., Apt. #2, on a larceny cost, in accordance with Warwick Police information.

At 9:30 a.m. Feb. 3, Officer Robert Lewis responded to a name from Distribuidora Monte Peniel, LLC, at 205 Hallene Highway, Warwick, RI, reporting that the stolen plates had been taken from one of many firm’s vans.

Critiques of the world the van was parked at throughout the time the plates have been stolen confirmed members of a snow elimination firm close to the van at about 4:30 am. Feb. 3. At about 5:50 a.m., Hays is noticed kneeling close to the entrance of the van. After observing the video, Lewis obtained an arrest warrant for Hays for one rely of larceny.

The warrant was executed Thursday, March 13, at 5:50 p.m., when Officer Dylan A Estrella arrested Hays as his dwelling, charging him with larceny, lower than $1,500.

In accordance with Estrella’s report, he and Officer Kyle Fitzsimmons noticed Hays driving close to his dwelling in Oakland Seashore that day and watched him as he entered his dwelling. Because the officers watched the constructing, Estrella noticed Hays peering out a window at them. Estrella referred to as to him and requested him to come back out, and his complied.

The officers arrested Hays with out incident and transported him to Warwick Police Headquarters, 99 Veterans Memorial Drive, the place they charged him with one rely of larceny for the stolen plates and held him in a single day for arraignment as a parole violator. Hays was arraigned in Third District Court docket March 14, and scheduled for a pretrial convention April 14.

He’s due in Third District Court docket at the moment for a pretrial convention on the cost.
