CRANSTON, R.I. (WHDH) – A four-year-old boy was in vital situation Tuesday afternoon after being shot in Cranston, Rhode Island earlier within the day, police stated, and the kid’s father has been charged in reference to the capturing.
Police stated the boy was shot within the head inside a residential constructing on Queen Road Tuesday morning. He’s in vital situation.
33-year-old Michael Jones is going through a number of costs. Police stated he by chance shot his son when he was dealing with a loaded gun. They stated Jones was in a second flooring bed room when the gun went off. The bullet traveled by way of the wall, hitting the boy who was in an adjoining room.
When officers arrived, they stated Jones was holding his son. Jones has beforehand been convicted of a felony assault, so he’s barred from proudly owning a weapon.
Police stated the boy was taken to Hasbro Kids’s Hospital and was anticipated to endure surgical procedure.
Investigators had been questioning the boy’s father, who’s going through costs together with felony assault.
Col. Michael Winquist of the Cranston Police Division stated Cranston officers had been “among the first ones contained in the residence.”
“Any time you see a baby that’s injured, particularly to this diploma, it’s at all times a tough scenario,” Winquist stated. “…We’re praying and hoping the kid makes it.”
Winquist continued, saying “Our ideas are with the household, at the moment, and the kid.”
