Driver police say was traveling 104 mph pleads not guilty in charge from rollover crash

PROVIDENCE – The person charged with reckless driving in reference to a crash that left him hospitalized pleaded not responsible on Tuesday in district courtroom.

Jake Surprenant, 30, of Burrillville was charged with reckless driving following the accident on Wallum Lake Street on Tuesday, April 8.

In accordance with police, Surprenant misplaced management of his car and left the roadway, putting a phone pole and splitting it in half. His truck rolled over, putting a storage field on a resident’s entrance garden and at last got here to a halt wrapped round a tree.

Emergency personnel used a number of Jaws of Life to extract Surprenant from his truck earlier than he was transported through life flight to Rhode Island Hospital.

An investigation later revealed that he was driving 104-miles-per-hour on street with a restrict of 40-miles-per-hour, in keeping with police.
