NORTH SMITHFIELD – Staff have been evacuated from Materials Sampling Applied sciences Wednesday afternoon after a 200-gallon tank of silver cyanide started leaking.
The enterprise, which extracts the compound from merchandise, informed emergency responders that the tank was unintentionally punctured.
A hazmat workforce was known as to the property at 800 Central St. round 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Could 14.
The leak was reportedly contained to the constructing and a cleanup contractor was known as to the location.
Officers reportedly stated Wednesday that the incident posed no danger to staff, the general public, or the setting. Silver cyanide is extremely poisonous by pores and skin absorption, ingestion or inhalation of mud.
