WESTERLY, R.I. (WLNE) — The Misquamicut Fire Department said that firefighters rescued a dog that fell through the ice at Little Masachaug Pond Thursday.

The department said the dog, named Phoenix, had wandered onto the ice during a walk and fell through a thin patch.

The owner and Phoenix, as well as the firefighters who performed the rescue, were all safe and uninjured.
