SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (WLNE) — The 22nd annual Mews Tavern Gear and Beer 5K was held in Wakefield Sunday

Organizers said the race raised over $500,000 dollars for charity since it began being held.

South County Health said that Washington County has one of the highest rates of breast cancer in Washington County, and all funds raised in 2025 will go towards building a center for women battling the disease.

$130,000 total was raised for the new center.
