The 1 mile walk along uneven terrain will include a narrated history of the Buck Hill Management Area, including stories of an old tavern and the Buck Hill Schoolhouse. Hikers are asked to wear sturdy shoes and bring a water bottle. The group will tour historical cemetery #100 to learn about the Lewis family and how they lived in this remote area in the mid-1800s. The cemetery tour will include information about a Civil War soldier and a Revolutionary War soldier. From there, walkers will travel to the property owned by the trust and learn about land conservation and how the property continues to be a working farmland. The tour will conclude with the reading of some poetry written by an early 20th century Buck Hill resident. For more information, send an email to [email protected] or name (401) 500-0433. Hazardous waste assortment
