Speeding U-Haul Driver Arrested For Stealing It April 3

[CREDIT: Rob Borkowski] Warwick Police Division at 99  Veterans Memorial Drive. On April 3, a rushing U-Haul driver was stopped and arrested after the corporate reported the truck stolen.

WARWICK, RI — Officer Michael C. Bailey was patrolling Rte. 95 in Warwick April 3 at 8:33 p.m. when he noticed a rushing U-Haul truck with Arizona plates touring 10 mph over the velocity restrict, its plates revealing it was reported stolen.

Based on Bailey’s report, after he ran the plate, he realized the car had been reported stolen from Windfall April 1.

Bailey activated his cruiser’s emergency lights and siren, and pulled the rushing U-Haul over close to Exit 29, in accordance with the officer’s report.

Bailey recognized the motive force as a 22-year-old man and resident of Windfall, RI. He additionally found there was a warrant for his arrest by the Windfall Police Division. Bailey handcuffed the motive force and positioned him in his cruiser.

Rushing U-Haul reported stolen

Windfall Police have been in a position to present Bailey with a replica of their police report, which confirmed the car had been rented by the person on the U-Haul situated at 464 Broad St., Windfall, Rl.

 At Warwick Police Headquarters, 99 Veterans Memorial Drive, Bailey booked and processed the motive force, charging him with acquiring a car with intent to defraud. He was launched with a court docket summons.
